When we cheer on our Kansas City Chiefs, I try not to spend too much time in the kitchen (don’t want to miss an epic throw by Patrick Mahomes ya know!) Brown Sugar, Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breast Bites are the perfect salty, sticky, sweet and crispy appetizer for game day with just five ingredients! They can be made ahead of time and thrown in the oven at kick off. By the end of the 1st quarter, you have yummy little bites you can grab and get back to the game!

Brown Sugar, Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breast Bites Recipe

Ingredients

4 chicken breasts (boneless skinless)
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
16 strips bacon
Toothpicks to skewer

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Cut each chicken breast into 4 long, thin chicken strips.

3. Cut each strip into 2 inch chunks.

4. In a bowl add the brown sugar, salt and pepper.

5. Add the chicken pieces and toss in the brown sugar mixture.

6. Wrap the chicken in a 1/3 of a strip of bacon and put into your baking dish.

7. Sprinkle over the remaining brown sugar.

8. Cook for 30-35 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and bacon is crisp.

*Laurie’s Note: Hey, I’m from Iowa and growing up, we raised hogs back on our farm. Don’t skimp on the quality of your bacon! I never buy pre-packaged bacon. I splurge a little and get a good quality, thick-cut bacon from the butcher counter. If you use a poor quality bacon, it shrivels up to nothing and your efforts will be swimming in grease.
