Cheddar Bay Biscuit Breakfast Bake
Cheddar Bay Biscuit Breakfast Bake Recipe
INGREDIENTS
1 Box Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
¾ c. cold water
1 c. cheddar cheese (divided)
10 eggs
½ c. milk
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
1 c. breakfast meat/veggies of choice (breakfast sausage, bacon, ham, chorizzo, etc.)
½ c. butter (melted)
DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Cook your chosen breakfast meat (if not already cooked), chop and set aside.
Step 2: Pour the Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix into a bowl and set aside the seasoning packet that comes with it. (We’ll be using that later!) Add ¾ c. coldwater to the biscuit mix and stir. The add ½ c. cheddar cheese and mix well.
Step 3: Grease your baking dish and add the dough, pressing it out into an even layer on the bottom of your dish.
Step 4: Crack eggs into a separate bowl, add the ½ c. of milk, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Whisk until well combined.
Step 5: Pour egg mixture over the biscuit layer in your baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining ½ c. cheddar cheese and then layer the top with your chosen breakfast meat.
Step 6: Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Step 7: Melt the ¼ c. butter and whisk in the Cheddar Bay Biscuit seasoning packet. Once the breakfast bake is done, brush the top with the butter and seasoning. Allow to rest 3-5 minutes and serve.
Laurie’s Tip: The original recipe required 6 eggs for the breakfast bake. I like my egg bakes a little “eggier” so I added 4 additional eggs. If you prefer your egg bakes “breadier”, use the 6-egg option.
